Bacon-Wrapped Scallops

  • 8 Slices of Villari Brothers Bacon, cut crossways in Half
  • 16 Medium Sea Scallops
  • 8 ounces Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 ounces Soy Sauce
  • 8 ounces Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Shredded Fresh Ginger Root
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • Wooden Toothpicks (do not use plastic toothpicks)


  1. Line 2 baking sheets with aluminum foil.
  2. Mix the Teriyaki, Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Garlic and Ginger together in a bowl.
  3. Wrap each Scallop with a Half Strip of Bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Marinate the Wrapped Scallops in the Teriyaki Mixture for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  5. Move an oven rack about 5 or 6 inches from the broiler and preheat broiler.
  6. Remove Marinated Scallops from refrigerator and arrange on one of the foil lined baking pans.
  7. Broil until lightly charred, about 5-6 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and place the “bottom” side up on the clean foil lined baking sheet.
  9. Place back in oven and broil until lightly charred on this side, about 5-6 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes.
  11. Remove toothpicks and serve on a bed of baby greens with Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing.
