Ingredients
- 4 Villari Prime Boneless Pork Chops
- 1 jar (32 oz) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup chicken broth or water
- 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- Brown the pork: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Season the pork with salt and pepper, then brown the pork chops on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Cook the onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and golden.
- Combine the ingredients: Add the sauerkraut, brown sugar, chicken broth, and caraway seeds (if using) to the skillet. Stir to combine. Return the pork to the pan, nestling it into the sauerkraut mixture.
- Simmer: Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 1-1.5 hours, until the pork is tender and fully cooked.
- Serve: Plate the pork and spoon the sauerkraut mixture over the top.
