Ingredients

  • 4 Villari Prime Boneless Pork Chops
  • 1 jar (32 oz) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Brown the pork: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Season the pork with salt and pepper, then brown the pork chops on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Cook the onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and golden.
  3. Combine the ingredients: Add the sauerkraut, brown sugar, chicken broth, and caraway seeds (if using) to the skillet. Stir to combine. Return the pork to the pan, nestling it into the sauerkraut mixture.
  4. Simmer: Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 1-1.5 hours, until the pork is tender and fully cooked.
  5. Serve: Plate the pork and spoon the sauerkraut mixture over the top.
