Ingredients
- 4 - 5 to 6 ounce Boneless Pork Chops
- 2 Tablespoons smoked paprika (you can use regular paprika)
- 1 Tablespoon cayenne powder (more if you like yours spicier)
- 1 Tablespoon onion, granulated
- 1 teaspoon garlic, granulated
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
Directions
- Mix spice blend: mix all of the dry ingredients together in a small bowl. Make sure it is blended evenly; store in airtight container as needed
- Pour the Olive Oil in a plate or small pan, add 2 Tablespoons of the Blackened Seasoning Spice blend and mix well.
- Place the Boneless Pork Chops in the Seasoning oil and turn over and over, coating completely.
- Cover the plate of oil, spices and coated Pork Chops with plastic wrap and set in Refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour.
- Turn heat to medium and place a thick skillet on the heat to get hot. A Cast Iron Skillet is the best for this recipe.
- Once Skillet is hot place the 4 Seasoned Pork Chops in the pan with space between the pork chops. Do not crowd the pork chops into the pan. If you can only cook 2 at a time to keep from overcrowding, then do that.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 145 degrees F.
- Serve with Red Beans & Rice and a side of okra (or any side of your choice.)
