Certifications

Villari Foods has received a number of certifications that demonstrate our ongoing commitment to animal welfare and food safety, which enables us to offer wholesome, quality products for our customers.

We believe firmly in the humane treatment of the animals at every level, and we’re committed to offering products that meet consumer preferences for health and nutrition.

Certifications earned by Villari Foods include:

Global Animal Partnership

Established in 2008, Global Animal Partnership (GAP) is an organization committed to humane treatment of animals.

To be GAP certified, every farm must undergo an audit every 15 months to ensure that GAP’s comprehensive animal welfare standards are being adhered to. Our company’s participation in this program aligns with our belief in being truthful and transparent to our customers and the consumer.

Animal Welfare Approved

It is our responsibility to make certain each animal is treated with the utmost respect and care throughout every step of raising, transport and production. Our production facilities are Animal Welfare Approved.

Pork Quality Assurance® Plus Certified

Continuous improvement for animal well-being is a company-wide commitment at Villari Foods. By maintaining Pork Quality Assurance® Plus (PQA Plus) Certification, we can measure, track and improve animal well-being with resources for pork producers, provided by PQA Plus (a Pork Checkoff program of the National Pork Board), to help ensure the highest levels of quality and safety.

Transport Quality Assurance® Certified

Making sure the animal gets to its destination in a safe, stress-free manner is an overlooked, yet imperative, measure of overall animal well-being. Certified by the National Pork Board’s Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) Pork Checkoff program, drivers at Villari Brothers Trucking are trained to make certain each animal is properly cared for throughout the transportation process.

USDA Certified Organic

The increase in consumer demand for organic meat has challenged us to produce a new product line that is USDA Certified Organic®. USDA regulations for organic meat require that animals be raised in living conditions that accommodate their natural behaviors (such as the ability to graze on pasture), fed 100% organic feed and forage, and not administered antibiotics or hormones.

SQF Level 2

The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQF) is recognized by suppliers worldwide as a rigorous, credible food safety management system. As an SQF Level 2 Certified producer, we must continuously meet the demanding standards of the SQF Program, which is based on safety checkpoints integrated throughout our operations.
